New head of multinational Joint Task Force on Boko Haram appointed

General Iliya Abbah has been appointed new commander of the joint multinational task force to combat the Boko Haram Insurgents.

His appointment comes in the wake of the appointment of  Brig-Gen. T. Y. Buratai, as the Chief of Army Staff by President Muhammadu Buhari some weeks back.

Before his appointment, Abbah was the head of military operations in the Niger Delta.
