Indiana teacher marries Jesus Christ in elaborate wedding ceremony, becomes a consecrated virgin

Hayes said she decided to become a consecrated virgin after years of prayer. A major benefit to her is her being allowed to live among the public while serving God.
An Indiana school teacher married Jesus Christ over the weekend, becoming a consecrated virgin in an elaborate white wedding. Jessica Hayes, a 38-year-old theology teacher, donned a long white dress and lace veil while tying the knot before hundreds of guests at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Fort Wayne Saturday.

Standing at the altar as a bride of Christ, she vowed a life of virginity and was given a ring, as well as a book of daily prayers.

"I had been praying about it for years, trying to seek God's will for my life and not really finding it in any of the paths that I sought before," she told WANE after the ceremony was complete. See more photos after the cut..

Hayes was additionally presented with a ring. In return she will live her life as a virgin and devote herself to the church's service.
Hayes, who had to lie before the altar, said finding the perfect dress proved to be a challenge with her desiring one long and modest but still showing off 'the beautify of a bride.'
