Four Man Robbery Gang stole N100m in Ikorodu Operations - Police Tells Court

Police Authorities in Lagos State have confirmed that the four man armed robbery gang who allegedly robbed First Bank and Zenith Banks in Ikorodu carted away with N99.536 million.


The alleged members of the armed robbery gang were identified as Kowei Victor, 42; Friday Abiwa, 20; Omolaja Omoboye, 39 and  Agbojule Bright, 25.

According to the police, the ganag members, armed with AK-47, dynamites and other weapons, robbed  First Bank Plc and Zenith Bank Plc in Ikorodu.

The alleged armed robbers also disposessed the two banks of $2,750 and thousands of euro notes after blowing up the banks entrance with dynamite.

The police prosecutor, Godwin O. Osuyi, therefore, applied to the court that the four defendants be remanded in prison custody pending the time they will be properly arraigned before a competent court.

The four defendants pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them.

The magistrate, Mrs. M. O. Olajuwon, ordered that the four robbery suspects be remanded in prison custody pending the DPP's advice on the matter.

Olajuwon also ordered the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and forward it to the DPP for legal advice. She adjourned the matter till October 23.
