Kogi Guber Race: APC's Abubakar Audu is dead, to be buried tomorrow

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Kogi State, Abubakar Audu, is dead. Sahara Reporters first broke the news that Audu passed away of undisclosed medical reason just after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced the results of the voting and had declared the election inconclusive.

Naij.com  correspondents rushed to Audu’s house in Lokoja to confirm the authenticity of the report. He was previously said to have left his country home in Ofu LG for Lokoja, the state capital. The phones of his aides were switched off.


Though some said he had died as early as 10am the following Sunday but other source said he slumped and died after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the result of the election inconclusive.

One of the aide of the APC candidate, Tenimu Nasidi, said being a Muslim they have taken his death in good faith as they strongly believed that God gives and God takes, “To me I believed that his time was up; nothing any man can do to stop it”.
